Primary Pad is an online collaborative word processing space. It allows students (and teacher) to work on one document at the same time.
Go to Primary Pad and sign up for a free 3 month trial account.
You'll get an email to tell you the address of your workspace, which you can now go to and begin!
1. Log into your account and choose "Create new pad".
2. Click on "rename" to add a title to your page.
3. Add a password and change security settings if you want to.
4. To invite others to join your Pad, simply give them the URL (and password if applicable).
5. When they're logged on, they'll see a small coloured square on the right. They need to type their name in the field beside it.
6. They are now free to type on the document.
7. Save periodically. Use the Time Slider to go back to any point in the document time line.
Classroom Uses:
Assign each child a line number (keep pressing enter until there are enough lines for all students. This alleviates some frustration and confusion when the whole class is working/brainstorming together.
Maths - have students think of as many ways to make 10 or 20 and write the number sentences down on their line
Maths - create problems for other students to solve
